St Alban’s Pilgrimage

St Alban’s Pilgrimage – Meet at East Croydon Station at 8.45am– We will travel by direct train but will have to walk in procession about 1.2 mile to the Abbey and 0.8 mile back to the station. You are likely to get home at about 3.00pm if staying for the noon Festival Eucharist (or 6.30pm if also staying for Festival Evensong at 4.00pm). More details soon – please sign up. Preachers Very Revd Andrew Nunn (Dean of Southwark) at Eucharist and Stuart Burns OSB at Evensong. The Alban Pilgrimage is held in honour of the city’s namesake, St Alban, who died on 22nd June over 1700 years ago. He was executed for giving shelter to a Christian priest who was fleeing persecution by the Romans.
