Movements that started in the US triggered protests in the UK that led to positive changes. Our contribution to the first and second world wars was hidden until a few years ago. Up to about 20 years ago I still felt like a visitor to this country but now I feel like a citizen of this country. My ancestors helped to rebuild after the Second World War as they were the Windrush generation\, I am a child of that generation. So\, after 62 years\, I can celebrate Black History as something positive\, not forgetting the past but looking at what has been gained as a result of the input of people of colour. \n
