SUMMARY:Black history Month HERE
DESCRIPTION:Personal reflection\nBritain became more proactive in programmes about the positive contribution that was made by people of colour to this country. Movements that started in the US triggered protests in the UK that led to positive changes. Our contribution to the first and second world wars was hidden until a few years ago. Up to about 20 years ago I still felt like a visitor to this country but now I feel like a citizen of this country. My ancestors helped to rebuild after the Second World War as they were the Windrush generation\, I am a child of that generation. So\, after 62 years\, I can celebrate Black History as something positive\, not forgetting the past but looking at what has been gained as a result of the input of people of colour. \n
