DESCRIPTION:Following Christ † Serving Community † Welcoming All † \nWelcome to St George’s website\nWelcome to St George’s which seeks to be a safe and accepting place to journey with God.\nSt George’s is a friendly\, Church of England church serving the community in Shirley\, in the\nLondon Borough of Croydon. All are welcome and all are included – we are also part of the\nInclusive Church network.\nAs a church: \nIt gathers regularly to worship and to pray to the God that Jesus reveals.\nIt seeks forgiveness for past failings and healing for past hurts.\nIt listens for what God might be saying.\nIt is nourished by God’s gift of the Sacraments and the Holy Spirit\nIt is sent out to witness to what God is doing and wants to do in serving the local\ncommunity and the wider world.\nIt fails\, and when it does\, it gathers ….. \nAll are welcome\, without exception. If you are new to the area\, or feel like you have questions to\nask\, to begin or continue your journey with God why not come and visit St George’s!\n“Come you have much faith and come you who have none” \nParish Eucharist\nThis is the service in the week where the most people come and worship and it is a really friendly\nenvironment where we meet Jesus through the Sacrament of the Eucharist. It uses Common\nWorship in contemporary language with hymns\, songs and a sermon. Vestments and robed choir\non most Sundays and incense on main festivals. There is a parent-supervised children’s area\nand Junior Church (age 3 to Y5)\nEvery Sunday at 10:00 AM for about an hour and a quarter. \nFamily Friendly\, Creche\, Junior Church\, Refreshments\, Common Worship
